Technip wins Gulf of Mexico EPCI work from BP

TechnipFMC has been awarded an integrated EPCI contract for BP’s greenfield Kaskida development in the US Gulf of Mexico, Technip announced on Monday.

The contract covers the design and manufacture of subsea production systems, including 20,000 psi standardised subsea trees and manifolds, as well as the design, manufacture and installation of subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines.

The Kaskida development will be BP’s sixth hub in the Gulf of Mexico. It will feature a new 80,000-bopd floating production platform, the first for BP in the Gulf of Mexico to require equipment with a pressure rating of 20,000 psi.

Once Kaskida comes online in 2029, all production will be transported for export via Shell‘s planned 160-kilometre Rome Pipeline, on which the major reached a FID earlier in October.“Our innovative high-pressure solutions are key to helping unlock the most economically attractive opportunities in the Paleogene.

Through early engagement, we’re leveraging the breadth of our technological and integration capabilities to help BP successfully deliver Kaskida,” said Jonathan Landes, president of subsea for TechnipFMC.The value of the contract was not disclosed, but Technip indicated it lies between USD 250 million-500 million.
