TotalEnergies has agreed to acquire the 25 % interest held by Moeve (formerly CEPSA) in Block 53 offshore Suriname, expanding its position in a basin the company already operates.
France’s TotalEnergies SE is in talks with at least two suitors who have submitted bids for its shale oil assets in Argentina, according to people familiar with the matter.

“The government recognizes the complexities and high costs associated with the development of the Venus oil field by TotalEnergies,” Kornelia Shilunga, special adviser and head of upstream petroleum unit in the Namibian Presidency, said in a reply to questions.
“This contract reinforces SBM Offshore’s long-term strategic partnership with TotalEnergies and marks a significant milestone as SBM Offshore becomes the first FPSO operator in Suriname,” SBM stated in a news release on Thursday. “It is a testimony to SBM Offshore’s focus on excellence throughout the entire project’s lifecycle, from the allocation of our eighth Fast4Ward® MPF hull to our extensive experience in asset management supporting TotalEnergies’ operations.”
TotalEnergies, jointly with QatarEnergy, has been awarded the Ahara license following the “Algeria Bid Round 2024,” launched by The National Agency for the Valorization of Hydrocarbon Resources (ALNAFT), the first call for tender conducted under the hydrocarbon law No.19-13.
The 40 Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) federal leases, spanning approximately 1,000 km2 and located 175 to 330 km from shore, include 13 blocks located in the Walker Ridge area, 9 blocks in the Mississippi Canyon area and 18 blocks in the East Breaks area.
TotalEnergies has signed an agreement with Shell to exchange its 20% non-operated interest in the Gato do Mato project for an additional 3% interest in Lapa, a producing offshore oil field. Upon closing, TotalEnergies will increase its stake in Lapa to 48% (operator), alongside Shell (27%) and Repsol Sinopec (25%).
Singa Renewables Pte. Ltd., a joint venture between TotalEnergies SE and RGE (Royal Golden Eagle) Pte. Ltd., has been granted a conditional license by Singapore’s Energy Market Authority (EMA) to import 1 gigawatt (GW) of renewable power from Indonesia.
TotalEnergies SE has signed a deal to sell its 12.5 percent stake in Nigeria’s OML118 production sharing contract, which contains the producing Bonga field, to Shell PLC for $510 million.
The French company, through subsidiary TotalEnergies EP Nigeria Ltd., derived 11,000 barrels of oil equivalent a day (boed) from its share of production in the block, mainly oil, in 2024.
