The contract is set to begin in Q3 2025 and covers hydraulic fracturing services for conventional and tight reservoirs across multiple producing fields in Abu Dhabi. It is ADNOC Drilling’s fifth major contract award in just over two months, contributing to a total of USD 4.8 billion in new business.
ADNOC Drilling has secured a contract valued at up to $800 million by ADNOC Onshore for the provision of integrated hydraulic fracturing services for conventional and tight reservoirs, the UAE-based company announced Monday.
This is the third major contract closed by ADNOC Drilling with ADNOC Offshore in just over a month, and brings total contract awards to USD 3.6 billion. In April, the company secured a USD 1.63-billion, five-year engagement for integrated drilling services. In May, it won a USD 806-million contract to deliver three newbuild island rigs for the Zakum offshore development project in Abu Dhabi.
ADNOC Drilling Company has been awarded a contract by compatriot ADNOC Offshore for three newbuild island rigs for the Zakum offshore development project in Abu Dhabi, ADNOC Drilling announced on Monday.
In that statement, the company projected a rig count of over 148 by 2026 and more than 151 by 2028. The company owned 129 rigs in 2023, according to annual data hosted on ADNOC Drilling’s website.
“The introduction of advanced rigs with AI-enabled technologies will enhance efficiency and bolster … [ADNOC Drilling’s] oilfield services (OFS) segment, delivering greater value to customers,” the company said in the statement.
ADNOC listed ADNOC Drilling in 2021 in what was one of the largest share sales in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at the time. ADNOC Drilling, the largest national drilling company in the Middle East by rig fleet size, is the primary provider of drilling rig hire services and certain associated rig-related services to the ADNOC Group on agreed contractual terms.
