CB&I has secured a contract from EnQuest to continue serving as duty holder for the Kittiwake platform in the UK North Sea through cessation of production (COP) and decommissioning.
The award expands CB&I’s scope beyond late-life asset management to include production closeout and support for the platform’s decommissioning, marking the final phase of Kittiwake’s operating life.
CB&I’s Asset Solutions business has served as duty holder for the Kittiwake platform since 2003, supporting EnQuest since the operator acquired the asset in 2014. The platform serves as a production hub for several subsea tieback developments in the Greater Kittiwake Area.
“This award is testament to our longstanding relationship with EnQuest and our experience as outsourced duty holder for the asset for nearly 23 years,” said John Pearson, chief operating officer of CB&I Asset Solutions. “We are honored to support EnQuest through the final phase of the asset’s lifecycle.”
According to CB&I, its Asset Solutions team has helped improve operational performance and extend the platform’s productive life while maintaining a safety record of more than 20 years without a lost-time incident.
EnQuest Asset Manager John Telford said the companies will continue working together to support the safe and efficient transition of Kittiwake from production through decommissioning.
The contract reinforces CB&I’s position in the growing market for late-life asset management and offshore decommissioning services, as operators across the UK Continental Shelf continue preparing mature North Sea assets for retirement.
