Paris-listed Vallourec has secured a contract with Dutch offshore contractor Allseas to supply line pipes for the Petrobras-operated Buzios 10 offshore project in Brazil, Vallourec announced on Tuesday.
The contract calls for Vallourec to supply nearly 18,000 tonnes of seamless carbon steel line pipes for risers and flowlines and includes an option for almost 5,000 additional tonnes. Vallourec noted it will manufacture the pipes at its facility in Jeceaba, Minas Gerais, to ensure high local content.
“This contract reinforces our strategic positioning in Brazil, one of our key markets for complex offshore projects. It also serves as a legacy to our ability to deliver premium tubular solutions, fully manufactured in Brazil,” said Philippe Guillemot, group chairman and CEO of Vallourec.
Allseas was selected by Petrobras in February 2025 to cover the design, procurement, construction and installation of the subsea infrastructure at Buzios 10. Work is scheduled to start in Q3 2026 with the Audacia pipelay vessel and will include the installation of 111 kilometres of rigid risers and flowlines to link 16 wells to an FPSO via steel risers.
Located 180 kilometres off the coast of Rio de Janeiro in water depths of more than 2,000 metres, Buzios is one of the world’s largest deepwater fields. Its recoverable resources are estimated at 11.3 billion boe.
