TotalEnergies signed agreements with PETRONAS Carigali, PTTEP and KUFPEC to acquire a 30% operated interest in Malaysia’s Lang Lebah and B14 offshore gas fields in Sarawak.
The two fields are planned for integrated development, with the project expected to unlock more than 6.5 trillion cubic feet of gas resources, equivalent to over 1 billion barrels of oil equivalent, and support annual production of approximately 10 billion cubic meters.
Upon completion, TotalEnergies will operate a 30% interest in both fields, alongside PTTEP with 25%, KUFPEC with 25% and PETRONAS Carigali with 20%, subject to regulatory approvals.
The planned development is intended to supply gas to Malaysia LNG and support demand across Asian markets.
The agreements follow TotalEnergies’ acquisition of SapuraOMV upstream gas assets in 2024 and the expansion of its partnership with PETRONAS in 2025, as the company continues to develop its Malaysian gas portfolio.
TotalEnergies operates across oil, natural gas, LNG, electricity and renewable energy markets, with its integrated gas strategy focused on connecting upstream production with liquefaction, trading and international energy supply.
