Halliburton has been awarded a contract by Petrobras to provide well intervention and plug and abandonment services in wells offshore Brazil, the oilfield services company announced on Thursday.
Under the terms of the deal, Halliburton will provide fluids, completion equipment, wireline, slickline, flowback services and coiled tubing. Work is scheduled to start in Q2 2025.
The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Halliburton noted that the contract covers nearly two-thirds of all interventions and plug and abandonment work for Petrobras.
“Our long-standing relationship with Petrobras exemplifies our ability to collaborate and engineer solutions to maximise their asset value,” said Halliburton chairman, president and CEO Jeff Miller. “Halliburton’s offshore well intervention capabilities optimise production, extend well life, reduce costs and access challenging reserves.”
