Halliburton will expand its presence in Namibia with new oilfield and support services facilities at four locations, including the country’s main ports, the company announced on Wednesday.
The chosen locations are Windhoek, the country’s capital, and the port towns of Walvis Bay, Swakopmund and Lüderitz.
The Windhoek office will handle support services, while the Walvis Bay facility will focus on warehousing and cementing and drilling fluids services. Swakopmund will house Sperry Drilling, well completions, testing and subsea, and wireline and perforating services. Lüderitz will support cementing and wireline operations.
“These new facilities allow us to operate close to our customers, collaborate in real time and deliver the advanced technologies and services that maximise asset value. We are proud to support Namibia’s oil and gas industry, contribute to the economic success of the country and create opportunities for local people,” said Antoine Berel, vice-president of Halliburton Sub-Saharan Africa (South).
Together, the facilities will have a footprint of approximately 20,000 square metres and employ around 200 Namibians.
