French oilfield services company Bourbon has been awarded an integrated logistics contract by an unnamed oil and gas major to support an exploration campaign in Namibia, Bourbon announced on Wednesday.
The campaign aims to drill a debut exploration well in the waters of southern Namibia and is expected to last six months. The value of the contract was not disclosed.
Bourbon will provide complete supply-chain coverage, including the international shipment of drilling equipment from Houston, Singapore and Antwerp. The company will also provide logistical services such as lifting, storage and warehousing.
In addition, Bourbon will deploy three platform supply vessels – the Bourbon Diamond, Bourbon Ruby and Bourbon Topaz – for the provision of marine services.
“This new contract confirms Bourbon Logistics’ expertise and recognition by major oil and gas operators to bring increasingly comprehensive services in their most ambitious projects,” said Nicolas Chateau, managing director of Bourbon Logistics.
