
Brazilian player Constellation Oil Services has won a USD 528-million contract for offshore drilling from Petrobras, the company announced on Tuesday.
Under the three-year charter agreement, Constellation’s Amaralina Star ultra-deepwater DP drillship will conduct drilling offshore Brazil including in the frontier exploration areas such as the Equatorial Margin and Pelotas Basin.
The contract is set to begin in Q1 2026 and has a 315-day extension on the table.
The Amaralina Star is designed to drill in water depths of up to 10,000 feet and has a drilling depth capacity of up to 40,000 feet.
“We are glad to announce this new contract, which not only fortifies our well-established and successful long-standing partnership with Petrobras, but also reinforces an incredible year for Constellation,” CEO Rodrigo Ribeiro said.
“As Brazil takes center stage in the offshore drilling industry, supporting Petrobras on its frontier exploration projects is a recognition of the incredible services Constellation has been consistently delivering across the fleet.”
Constellation Oil Services is a drilling contractor with extensive experience in deep and ultra-deepwater drilling and drilling in challenging environments such as the Brazilian pre-salt.
