BP: seismic complete at key Trinidad-Venezuela field

 BP has completed a seismic campaign at a key Trinidad-Venezuela cross-border gasfield, the Trinidad and Tobago energy ministry said on Monday.

The Manakin-Cocuina gasfield, which holds around 28.2 bcm (1 tcf) in gas reserves – is under development by BP and The National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (NGC) in partnership with Venezuela.

The field straddles the two countries’ territorial waters in the Atlantic.Monday’s announcement came after David Campbell, president of BP subsidiary bpTT, gave an update to the ministry on the company’s latest developments.

Data collected during the campaign was now in the processing stage, Campbell said. Details on the type and scope of the campaign were not provided.In May, BP and NGC received a licence from the US government to proceed with developing the field.
