
BP and EOG Resources have reached a final investment decision on the Coconut gasfield offshore Trinidad and Tobago, BP said earlier this week.The project is expected to see first gas in 2027.
“Coconut will be a 50/50 joint venture with EOG as operator. The final investment decision has been taken by the joint venture partners and first gas is expected in 2027,” BP subsidiary bpTT said in a press release on Monday.
Discovered by BP in 2005, the Coconut field lies in water depths of around 79 metres.BP and US energy player EOG have partnered on several projects in Trinidad and Tobago, including the Mento field, set to come on stream in 2025.
