TotalEnergies has signed a long-term sale and purchase agreement with Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Limited (GSPC) under which it will supply GSPC with 400,000 tonnes per year of LNG for a period of 10 years, TotalEnergies announced on Wednesday.
The LNG will be sourced from TotalEnergie’s global portfolio and will be delivered to terminals on India’s west coast at an expected rate of six cargoes per year. GSPC will primarily serve the gas to its industrial customers, but a portion of the volumes will also be allocated to domestic and business consumption and channelled to petrol stations for distribution to vehicles running on compressed natural gas.
“We are delighted to have been chosen by GSPC to supply them with LNG in India. This new deal underscores TotalEnergies’ leadership in the LNG domain and commitment to India’s energy transition and security of supply”, said Gregory Joffroy, senior vice-president of LNG at TotalEnergies.
GSPC is. State-owned oil and gas company and one of the largest gas trading companies in India. It conducts business in LNG terminals, gas transmission, gas distribution and power generation.
