The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), Opoku-Ahweneeh Danquah, has been adjudged the winner of the coveted Oil and Gas Industry Leadership Award for the year at the just-ended 4th edition of the Africa Public Sector Conference and Awards (APSCA 2023).

The Ghana Upstream Petroleum Chamber has called on the government to urgently put in strategic incentives to attract more investment in oil exploration in the country.
At the meeting of heads of NOCs and energy ministers of member-countries of the African Petroleum Producers’ Organisation (APPO) in Nigeria (Abuja), the CEO of GNPC said the energy transition is inevitable, but even the most developed countries still rely heavily on fossil fuels and are rethinking the pace at which the transition should take place.
