BW Offshore is reiterating its commitment to oil and gas production and hopes to land a new floating production, storage and offloading unit deal soon.
Despite declining domestic production and ambitions to pivot away from fossil fuels, oil and gas still meet three-quarters of the UK’s energy needs, with gas alone supplying over 85% of domestic heating and cooking for homes and often providing more than half of electricity generation during low renewable output.
BP, which announces its half-year results on Tuesday, said last month that it would sell its share in 10 US onshore windfarms to the New York-headquartered LS Power. On Monday it launched its 50:50 offshore wind joint venture with the Japanese wind company Jera worth up to £4.5bn, which it plans to use to gain some access to zero-carbon wind energy developments while focusing on fossil fuels.
The performance reflects stable global oil prices and adherence to the Petroleum Revenue Management Act, managed by the Bank of Ghana. This revenue stream supports fiscal resilience under President Mahama’s administration amid broader economic recovery efforts.
The Gulf of America (GoA) has witnessed an outstanding 2025 in terms of startup activity. Three new floating production units (FPU) are set to begin operations by year-end, with the potential to drive the basin’s deepwater output to an all-time high of nearly 2.2 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd) in 2026.
Today, an additional 25% tariff on all Indian exports to the United States should come into effect, making the total tariff owed by importers of Indian goods around 50%. The additional tariff aims to discourage Indian energy importers from buying Russian oil. And it could hurt the U.S. economy—although U.S. oil producers would welcome the price change.
With the deal, IndianOil is on track to become ADNOC’s largest LNG customer by 2029. The company will account for a total offtake of 2.2 million tpy, of which 1.2 million tpy from Das Island under a contract signed in February 2025 with ADNOC Gas and 1 million tpy from Ruwais under this latest deal.
Global energy technology company Schlumberger NV (SLB) said its joint venture with Aker Solutions ASA and Subsea7 SA, OneSubsea, secured an engineering, procurement, and construction contract from Equinor ASA. SLB said it will deliver all-electric subsea production systems for 12 wells in the Fram Sor project offshore Norway.
EnerMech has secured a two-year contract extension with Dubai Petroleum to continue providing the Middle East operator with crane maintenance services across its offshore assets.
