Norwegian energy company Equinor has submitted a bid to develop an offshore wind farm together with other companies in the latest round of Japan’s state auctions, two sources said, as it seeks a foothold in the fledgling market.
Offshore wind services business Venterra has acquired Oceanscan group of companies that provide subsea and non-destructive test equipment, geotechnical services and specialist personnel to the offshore energy market.
Under supportive policies, investment in domestic offshore energy sectors such as oil and gas, offshore wind, hydrogen, and carbon capture and storage technology could surge by more than 50%, rising from approximately £13 billion last year to over £20 billion by the early 2030s, according to a new report
