Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC) has signed an agreement with SAP to adopt RISE with SAP, marking a major milestone in its corporate drive toward advanced modernization within the energy sector. The initiative supports Sharjah’s long-term strategy to enhance operational excellence and sustainability under the leadership of H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmad Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of SNOC.
“Africa must take charge of its energy future.” With this bold statement, John Abdulai Jinapor, Minister of Energy for the Republic of Ghana, has set the tone for Africa Oil Week (AOW) 2025, the continent’s largest upstream oil and gas event, which will be hosted in Accra from 15th to 18th September 2025 at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City.
Ghana currently supplies about 425 million standard cubic feet of natural gas per day (MMscfd), sourced from the Jubilee and TEN fields, the Sankofa-Gye Nyame field, and imports from Nigeria. This gas supports nearly 70% of the country’s electricity generation.
