Italian energy services giant Saipem has secured a $260 million offshore drilling contract from Eni’s Ivorian subsidiary, paving the way for one of the world’s most advanced ultra-deepwater drillships to begin a long-term drilling campaign off the coast of Côte d’Ivoire from early 2027.
Transocean has been awarded a $158 million contract for its Deepwater Asgard drillship to support a five-well campaign in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Transocean Ltd. has announced that two of its ultra-deepwater drillships have received exercised contract options totaling $243 million in additional firm backlog.
Offshore drilling services provider Valaris Limited has secured more work for two of its units. The company said in a media release it has secured a 940-day contract extension for drillship Valaris DS-16, starting in June 2026. It has also secured a new 914-day contract for drillship Valaris DS-18, expected to start in the mid-fourth quarter 2026, with Anadarko Petroleum Corp., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Occidental, in the Gulf of America.
