Dana Gas and Crescent Petroleum, together with partners in the Pearl Petroleum consortium, have signed a series of long-term gas sales agreements to supply industrial customers in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, marking a key step toward commercial development of the Chemchemal gas field.
The USD 1.1 billion expansion project was completed eight months ahead of schedule and will enhance power generation and industrial output across the region by delivering an additional 7.08 mcm (250 mcf) per day of natural gas capacity.
Begonia-2 is expected to produce 141,583 cubic metres (5 mcf) of gas per day and is the first of 11 wells planned in a USD 100 million programme to boost company reserves and gas output in Egypt. The well is located in the New El Manzala concession and operated by El Wastani Petroleum Company, a joint venture between Dana Gas and the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company.
