Aker BP has reported strong operational and financial performance in its latest quarterly results, underscoring stable production, disciplined cost management, and a breakthrough exploration success on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS).
The joint industry project (JIP), led by DeepOcean, introduces a patented heating solution that allows power cables to be installed after pipeline lay or integrated within reeled pipelines. This approach can reduce manufacturing and installation costs by up to 35% and cut carbon emissions by 30%, while improving operational efficiency and extending tieback distances.

Well 6507/5-13 S aimed to prove petroleum in reservoir rocks in the Fangst and Båt groups. “The well encountered a 14-meter oil column in the Garn Formation in 43 meters of sandstone with moderate reservoir quality”, the upstream regulator said in a press release. “The oil/water contact was encountered at 3702 meters below sea level. The other formations in the Fangst and Båt groups were aquiferous.
Aker BP ASA has extended its alliance agreement with SLB (Schlumberger Limited) and Stimwell Services Ltd. for another five years. The alliance formed in 2019 has supported Aker BP’s operated assets in meeting production targets.
Aker BP said in a media release the alliance will work on further accelerating and boosting oil production.
Aker BP’s net production for the quarter was 41.3 million barrels of oil equivalent (MMboe), up from 38.2 MMboe in the previous quarter, which corresponds to a daily average of 449,200 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd), compared to 414,700 boepd in the third quarter.
