SLB OneSubsea to deliver subsea production systems for Eni’s Baleine Phase 3

SLB announced that its OneSubsea joint venture has been awarded a major engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract by Eni for Phase 3 of the deepwater Baleine development offshore Côte d’Ivoire.

Under the contract, SLB OneSubsea will supply a complete subsea production system (SPS) for 13 wells, supporting the next phase of one of West Africa’s largest offshore oil and gas developments.

The EPC scope includes the engineering, procurement and installation of subsea trees, umbilicals, manifolds, multiphase flowmeters and control systems, along with commissioning and life-of-field support. SLB said the integrated delivery model is intended to streamline project execution and support Baleine’s accelerated development schedule.

“Baleine Phase 3 brings together scale and execution certainty,” said Mads Hjelmeland, chief executive officer of SLB OneSubsea. “Through our subsea production system technology and by leveraging our established local presence, we are supporting Eni’s efforts to advance a complex deepwater project efficiently while contributing to the long-term development of offshore resources in Côte d’Ivoire.”

SLB OneSubsea said the project will be executed through its established in-country organization and local supply chain, supporting delivery throughout the life of the development.

The contract further expands SLB OneSubsea’s role on the Baleine project, which has become a cornerstone of Côte d’Ivoire’s growing offshore sector. Eni has steadily advanced the development through phased expansion, increasing oil and natural gas production from the field while supporting the country’s domestic energy supply and export capacity.

Baleine is the largest hydrocarbon discovery ever made in Côte d’Ivoire and one of the most significant recent offshore developments in sub-Saharan Africa. Phase 3 is expected to further increase production as Eni continues development of the deepwater asset.
