Valaris has secured a multi-year contract from Shell for the drillship VALARIS DS-8 for operations offshore Brazil, the company said on Wednesday.
The contract is expected to begin in Q1 2027 and will run for around 800 days, with a total value of approximately USD 300 million. It includes additional options that could extend operations by about one year.
“We are pleased to have been selected by Shell to provide drilling services on the Orca project, demonstrating both their confidence in Valaris to deliver complex deepwater drilling solutions and the growing IOC interest in developments offshore Brazil,” president and CEO Anton Dibowitz said.
Valaris is a global provider of offshore drilling services operating a fleet of ultra-deepwater drillships, semisubmersibles and shallow-water jackups. The company serves clients across all offshore basins and focuses on safety, operational excellence and innovation.
