The Permian Strategic Partnership (PSP) has appointed Jack Harper as its new chairman, strengthening leadership for one of the most influential coalitions in the U.S. oil and gas industry.
Harper, a longtime executive in the Permian basin, will guide PSP’s mission of fostering sustainable growth, community development, and energy innovation across West Texas and southeastern New Mexico. The coalition, which brings together major oil and gas companies, invests heavily in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and workforce development to support the booming shale region.
The leadership change comes as the Permian basin remains the top U.S. oil-producing region, accounting for nearly half of the nation’s output. With strong demand forecasts and global energy security concerns, PSP’s role in aligning industry growth with community needs has become increasingly critical.
Harper emphasized his commitment to advancing PSP’s mission while balancing economic growth, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility. “The Permian is America’s energy engine, and we must ensure that its benefits extend to the people and communities who make this work possible,” he said.
Industry analysts note that Harper’s appointment underscores the importance of regional collaboration as oil and gas companies continue to expand production and invest in long-term infrastructure across the basin.
