PDO signs 15-year deal with SPETCO for gas project in Oman

Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) has signed a 15-year agreement with Kuwait’s SPETCO to develop the Budour Tayseer Gas Project in Oman, local media reported on Thursday. The Budour Tayseer Gas Project is designed to produce 2 mcm (70.6 mcf) per day of sweet gas, 950 cubic metres per day of condensate and 80 tonnes per day of sulphur pellets. The facility will be executed under a design-build-own-operate-maintain model, with Omanisation targets starting at 30% and increasing to 85% by year seven.

PDO said the project would boost In-Country Value generation through local procurement, supplier development and job creation. It is also expected to support workforce development through training and internships under the Eidaad educational programme.

SPETCO provides oilfield engineering, production and gas processing solutions across the Middle East and North Africa. The company specialises in early production facilities, gas treatment and maintenance services for upstream operations.
