OQEP signs $54 million in local content contracts in Oman

Muscat-listed OQ Exploration & Production (OQEP) has signed four contracts worth more than USD 54 million with Omani companies and SMEs to support operations in its concession areas, the company said at the Oman Petroleum & Energy Show 2025.

Technical Services Company was awarded a contract to develop a residential camp at the Bisat Project in Block 60 for up to 460 people and scheduled for completion by June 2026, and a two-year contract extension for rig and oilfield services provider Shalim Oil Company, also on Block 60.

Rimal Al Sahra Oil & Gas was awarded a four-year contract, with a two-year extension option, to supply casing materials for Blocks 60 and 48. The fourth contract went to Shuram, for analytical services in Blocks 60, 48 and 8.

“These contracts reaffirm OQEP’s strong commitment to ICV by forming strategic partnerships with local businesses and empowering Omani talent at all operational levels,” OQEP chief financial officer Jaber al-Namani said. “Investing in human capital and local infrastructure is essential for achieving sustainable economic growth and enhancing the competitiveness of Oman’s energy sector in the long run.”

A subsidiary of OQ, OQEP focuses on the upstream development of Oman’s hydrocarbon resources. It operates multiple concessions across the country, including Block 60, and actively supports local content initiatives and workforce Omanisation.
