McDermott has secured an EPCIC contract from Petronas Carigali Brunei for a natural gas development project offshore Brunei, the company said on Monday.
The contract includes engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning services for a subsea production system and gas export pipeline that will support Brunei’s LNG sector. The infrastructure will connect six wells to a floating production unit and includes umbilicals, risers and flowlines. Project management will be led from McDermott’s Kuala Lumpur office.
“This award underscores McDermott’s engineering excellence and proven ability to deliver complex subsea projects across the region,” senior vice-president Mahesh Swaminathan said.
Petronas Carigali Brunei is a subsidiary of Malaysia’s national oil company Petronas, focused on upstream exploration and production activities in Brunei. The company works in partnership with the Brunei government to develop and produce hydrocarbons for domestic use and export through the country’s LNG sector.
