ExxonMobil, in partnership with operator TotalEnergies, Equinor, Azule Energy and Sonangol, has signed a production-sharing contract (PSC) extension for Block 17 offshore Angola at a signing ceremony on Wednesday.
The extension secures the long-term future of one of Angola’s most productive offshore assets, which includes flagship developments, such as Dalia and CLOV, and supports the country’s efforts to maintain oil output above 1 million bpd.
TotalEnergies, as operator of Block 17, has worked with partners to develop the block into a cornerstone of Angola’s oil production for more than 20 years. The renewed PSC allows for the continued use of existing infrastructure and technological expertise to support value creation from mature oilfields.
Beyond Block 17, ExxonMobil is advancing exploration in the Namibe Basin, with ongoing activities in Blocks 30, 44 and 45.
