Eni concludes first tranche of buyback plan

Eni Spa announced Wednesday that it bought back 4.2 million shares in the period between Aug. 21 and Aug. 24.

 

The shares were taken over at a weighted average price of EUR14.1299, for a total value of EUR59.8 million.

 

The company then specified that it had concluded the first tranche of the share buyback program initiated on May 12.

 

This will be followed by a further phase of purchases intended to complete the overall buyback plan, a note said.

 

Since the start of the program, Eni has purchased 62.0 million of its own shares or 1.8 percent of the share capital for a total value of EUR825.0 million.

 

Considering the treasury shares already in its portfolio and the cancellation of some 195.6 million treasury shares, Eni holds 92.5 million treasury shares or 2.7 percent of the share capital.

Eni’s stock trades in the green by 0.5 percent at EUR14.43 per share.
