
US offshore services provider Edison Chouest Offshore has acquired Norwegian ROV systems manufacturer Kystdesign, Chouest announced on Wednesday.
Tysvær-based Kystdesign designs and builds custom ROVs and components for numerous offshore industries including oil and gas. The company had revenues of USD 47.3 million in 2024, according to Chouest’s announcement.
With the acquisition, Chouest aims to reinforce its offerings in underwater robotics and subsea services. The first integrated ROV system under the new partnership is already in development.

Chouest operates a fleet of almost 300 vessels and is one of the largest providers of offshore marine service vessels in Latin America. With the acquisition of Kystdesign, its global workforce approaches 20,000 employees.
