The Energy Year will host the Angola Energy Leaders’ Summit on November 13, 2025, bringing together senior figures from Angola’s energy ecosystem for a high-level event aimed at shaping the next chapter of the country’s energy journey.
The event will take place at Galerias Isabel Fançony in Futungo de Belas, Luanda, and is officially supported by Angola’s National Oil, Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANPG).
In a period marked by the opening of new upstream frontiers and growing competition across African energy markets, the summit is positioned as a platform for strategic dialogue, actionable insights and meaningful engagement between government, industry and investors.
Under the theme “Strategic Opportunities in Angola’s Energy Sector: Unlocking New Frontiers, Driving Growth,” the summit will explore policy updates, new licensing rounds, FDI recovery post-reform, and the future of domestic gas monetisation. A special spotlight will be placed on Namibia, with discussions around joint ventures, technology transfer and regional energy corridors, reinforcing the summit’s cross-border perspective.
Confirmed speakers include Paulino Jerónimo, president of ANPG, and representatives from major energy companies such as NAMCOR. Mauro Graça of Sonangol Distribuição e Comercialização, will speak about the Barra do Dande Project, a game-changing downstream initiative, while Katrina Fisher of ExxonMobil will discuss the company’s commitment to Angola and its frontier exploration campaign.
As Angola celebrates 50 years of independence, the Energy Leaders’ Summit will shed light on the energy sector’s role in driving the country’s socio-economic development. From early offshore discoveries to major infrastructure projects, Angola has consolidated its position as one of Africa’s most dynamic energy markets. Recent developments signal a new chapter shaped by strategic investments in mature fields, the momentum of local operators’ expansion and IOC initiatives that are driving the decarbonisation of upstream operations.
The Angola Energy Leaders’ Summit is expected to attract key decision-makers across the public and private sectors. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage directly with C-suite executives, showcase innovative technologies and solutions, and explore new commercial openings in Angola’s evolving energy landscape. Highlights include:
• Exclusive roundtables and spotlight sessions
• Opportunities to present solutions to targeted audiences
• Strategic networking with Angola-Namibia corridor players
• Complimentary access to The Energy Year Angola 2025 publication
• A live music evening to conclude the day’s exchanges on a high note.
In the words of Paulino Jerónimo, president of ANPG: “It is our job to establish fruitful partnerships with our partners to ensure the creation of mutually beneficial projects that will assist in the development of Angola’s future. Our key objective is to ensure that Angola continues to remain competitive and is able to attract new investment. For this to happen, it is essential that we keep the lines of communication open, engage with industry players and provide clarity on what we expect from them, and what they can expect from us.”
For organisations looking to take a leadership role in one of Africa’s most dynamic energy markets, the Angola Energy Leaders’ Summit offers an essential gateway.
