ADNOC Gas signs LNG supply deal with Germany’s SEFE

ADNOC Gas has signed a three-year agreement with Germany’s SEFE to supply 700,000 tonnes of LNG per year, the company said on Thursday.

Deliveries will commence this year.

The LNG will be sourced from the company’s Das Island liquefaction facility, with the total deal valued at approximately USD 400 million. The site has exported over 3,500 LNG cargoes globally since 1977 and produces up to 6 million tonnes per year.

“This agreement marks a significant step in strengthening our long-standing partnership with SEFE and reinforces ADNOC Gas’s role as a reliable and responsible global energy provider,” ADNOC Gas CEO Fatema Al Nuaimi said.

The deal aligns with energy co-operation agreements between the UAE and Germany, including the 2022 Energy Security and Industry Accelerator pact and the 2024 Joint Declaration with Baden-Württemberg.

SEFE chief commercial officer Frédéric Barnaud said the contract “adds another flexible source of LNG to our portfolio – to the benefit of both Europe’s security of supply and our global market trading activities.”

ADNOC Gas is part of ADNOC’s strategy to boost natural gas production and expand LNG exports globally. It plays a key role in providing lower-emission energy solutions and serves as a feedstock supplier for various industries.

SEFE focuses on energy security in Germany and Europe by building partnerships with global LNG and natural gas suppliers.
