ADNOC Gas selects Worley for Bab Gas Cap mega-project

ADNOC Gas has awarded Worley Engineering the FEED contract for the new gas processing facilities at the Bab Gas Cap (BGC) project in Abu Dhabi, the companies announced on Wednesday.

The facilities are being designed to produce natural gas liquids, condensate, sales gas and sulfur. Worley’s contract includes the development of gas processing and conditioning units, acid gas recovery units, dehydration units, sulfur recovery units, NGL recovery units and carbon dioxide capture facilities.

“Today is an important step forward for this project, which has the potential to substantially increase our gas processing capacity, unlock additional revenue and strengthen ADNOC Gas’s position as a global gas supplier. This ambitious project will deploy state-of-the-art gas processing technologies and make an important contribution to the UAE’s gas self-sufficiency efforts,” said Ahmed Alebri, CEO of ADNOC Gas.

ADNOC Gas expects to take a FID on the BGC project in 2026. Once operational, the facilities will increase the company’s gas processing capacity by approximately 548.6 mcm (1.8 bcf).
