Halliburton signs Venezuela oil and gas agreements with Eneva, WESCA

Halliburton has signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with Eneva and WESCA to pursue oil and gas development opportunities in Venezuela, expanding its involvement as companies evaluate new projects in the country.

Under its agreement with Eneva, Halliburton will collaborate with the Brazilian integrated energy company to identify and pursue development opportunities in Venezuela. Eneva is Brazil’s largest private natural gas operator, and the agreement builds on an existing relationship between the companies in Brazil.

Halliburton’s agreement with WESCA will focus on field evaluation and development planning. The companies are already working together on reservoir characterization and development decisions using digital technologies and subsurface interpretation.

“These agreements highlight Halliburton’s efforts to help customers unlock value from their assets through technology, collaboration, and execution excellence,” said Francisco Tarazona, Halliburton senior vice president for Latin America.

Halliburton has operated in Venezuela for nearly nine decades and maintains local operational capabilities and strategically located bases in the country.

“Halliburton has a long history in Venezuela and supports customers as they pursue growth opportunities,” Tarazona said. “We look forward to working with Eneva and WESCA to advance development opportunities and support the country’s evolving energy sector.”

The agreements come as international oil and gas companies evaluate renewed investment and development opportunities in Venezuela. Halliburton did not disclose specific fields, investment amounts or timelines associated with either MoU.
