Guyana Energy Chamber Visits Ghana Upstream Chamber

A delegation from the Guyana Oil and Gas Energy Chamber has paid a courtesy call on the Ghana Upstream Petroleum Chamber to discuss how the two Chambers might collaborate. Guyana only recently started oil production and is seeking to understand the Ghanaian experience of an emerging oil and gas industry.

Commenting, the President of the Guyana Oil and Gas Energy Chamber, Manniram Prashad said “We are looking to discuss possible opportunities and share experiences that will be beneficial to our respective upstream industries.”

The CEO of the Ghana Upstream Petroleum Chamber, Mr. David Ampofo, thanked the delegation for the visit and expressed the hope that the relationship being struck, will be for the benefit of oil and gas companies and ensure a sustained contribution of the industry to the socio-economic development of both countries.

A memorandum of understanding spelling out areas of collaboration was agreed between the two upstream industry chambers.
