Ghana launches Green Cooling Project

Ghana has launched the Green Cooling Project, a bold initiative aimed at cutting emissions and promoting sustainable air conditioning across the country. The project, funded by Switzerland’s KliK Foundation and implemented by GIZ in collaboration with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), seeks to make climate-friendly cooling affordable and energy-efficient for households.

U.S. Oilfield Services Major Expands in Russia

In the first half of this year, Weatherford’s revenues from its Russian operations rose to 7% of the total $2.4 billion, from 5% of the total for the first six months of 2024, the report said, noting the oilfield service provider generated some $332 million in cash and assets in Russia as of end-June this year. According to the data, Nayara Energy has imported at least seven cargos of Russian crude on tankers that include sanctioned vessels, carrying a total of 700,000 barrels. Nayara Energy accounts for some 8% of India’s total refining capacity. It operates a 400,000-bpd refinery in Vadinar, which is the second-largest in the country. The facility is 49% owned by Russia’s Rosneft.
