Over $76 billion set aside for energy projects across the Atlantic over next five years

National Grid, an energy transmission and distribution company, has unveiled its investment plan for the 2024-29 period, earmarking £60 billion (close to $76.5 billion) for energy projects that will step up its decarbonization game and propel the energy transition momentum forward on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, encompassing the United States (U.S.) and Western Europe. The biggest slice of this multibillion-dollar investment pie is expected to be spent in the U.S. and the UK.

NUPRC, Schlumberger to develop Nigeria’s frontier oil basins

The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, on Sunday, announced that it would work with Schlumberger Global to develop frontier oil basins in Nigeria.

Schlumberger, globally known as SLB Global, is a major player in the oil and gas industry, while Nigeria’s frontier basins are regions with potential for oil and gas reserves that have not been extensively explored yet.

The project, which started in 2020, is currently about 99 per cent complete.

The GNPC operational headquarters is in fulfillment of a promise the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) made to the people of Western Region to help make the region the hub for petroleum and oil and gas industry in Ghana.

Apart from the building, there are also other projects ongoing in the region to ensure that government achieves its aim of making the Western Region an oil and gas hub.
