
The National Agency of Oil, Gas and Biofuels has announced an opening date of April 1, 2022, for proposals on Angola’s latest upstream bid round, the national energy agency announced on Friday.
Potential concessions in the round are found on the Congo Basin, including blocks 16/21, 31/21, 32/21, 33/21 and 34/21, and the Kwanza Basin, including blocks 7/21, 8/21 and 9/21.
Potential bidders must present their proposals 35 days following the opening date.
The bid round was previously opened to select companies in February 2021.
The country looks to up production that has waned since its peak in 2008 at around 1.9 billion bopd. In 2021, the OPEC member produced around 1.1 billion bopd.
